Hi guys! Previously I updated my blog on the first post as a supporter for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Unfortunately, the schedule face a little error which the official posting is starting from March instead of February. But I'm shocked by the numbers of readers and thank you all so so much for reading it. It makes me felt people around me are showing support towards this event and I very appreciate it.
Since the post I posted in February is not counted, I will be writing again in this post but a little shorter than the previous one and together with the process of olympic preparation.

What is Olympic Test Event ?
Test events also give the chance to promote generously and enjoy the winter sports in Republic of Korea. Since the test events are similar to competition scale, it also helps staff to have a very specific and practical opportunity to check up their readiness for the games. Kill two birds with one stone without wasting much effort and time.

What is Olympic Test Event ?
If you read my February post, you will knew a little of it. Olympic Test Event programme will take place at the actual venues which the games will be held. This is to give opportunity for athletes to get familiar with the venues and somehow is like a practice for them. It will also be an ideal platform for the public to participate and engage with the events and the Games. In total, 3,000 athletes are expected to participate in the test events – many of them coming to Korea for the first time – as well as 1,000 volunteers.

What is the purpose of test event?
The purpose is to ensure venues are operationally ready such as the field of games, the scoring and results system. It also train venue teams and all venue-related workforce and to test elements of games-time reporting process. It also helps to enchance the public interest towards the games.

The test events are held at 3 major places which is PyeongChang, Gangneung and Jeongseon. A total of 29 events is held including of 20 Olympics Events, 5 Paralympics Events, 2 non-competition events and 2 non-sport events. Test events already started from 25th of November 2016 and scheduled to be ended on the 23rd of April 2017. This event is governing by International Federations and organized by The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
PROCESS OF 2018 PYEONGCHANG WINTER OLYMPIC PREPARATION
In order to make this Olympic event a success, most of the stadium undergo construction and restoration to guarantee the safety of all the athletes and also publics. Total of 13 stadiums are involved in this olympic.
'Passion' means a very strong feeling, affection and something one is fond of. PyeongChang is a place of global festivals that inspires each other and symbolises a place where Koreans share their warm affection. It also expresses the Olympic spirit and the warm heartedness of Koreans.

But how to get us to the venues? Don't worry, the 2nd Yeongdong highway between Gwangju in Gyeonggi Province in Wonju has been completed. The new highway between East Hongcheon and Yangyang is under conctruction. When the new highway start to operate, it will distribute the traffic volume between Seoul area and Gangwon Province or Gangneung. It also improve the travel between two regions. Also for spectators who are going to Gangneung for the ice sport competitions, the new highway between East Hongcheon and Yangyang will shorten the travel time.
Before I end this post, let me introduce the slogan for 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

PyeongChang is a place where all generations can participate and inspire each other anytime and anywhere through Korea’s innovative technology and cultural convergence, and it means opening a new horizon for a new beginning, a harmonized world and the Olympic Winter Games.
Also the official mascots, Sooharang & Bandabi.
Soohorang, the mascot of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games took its motif from white tiger, which has been long considered Korea’s guardian animal. “Sooho,” meaning protection in Korean, symbolises protection offered to the athletes, spectators and other participants in the 2018 Games. “Rang” comes from the middle letter of “Ho-rang-i,” the Korean word for “Tiger,” and is also the last letter of “Jeong-seon A-ri-rang,” a cherished traditional folk song of Gangwon Province, where the Games will be held. Soohorang not only has a dauntless spirit and passion but also is a trustworthy friend who protects the athletes, spectators and all participants in the Olympic Games.
